Get Your Juice On: Green Go-Go Drink

naturalenergydrink

The smell of Red Bull, or all energy drinks for that matter, make me want to vom. Even if I am at a bar and the person next to me is drinking a Red Bull Vodka, I can smell it, and then I gag. Keep that disgusting shit far far far away from me.

I used to juice EVERY SINGLE DAY, but I have been bad and have been neglecting my poor juicer. I recently did a 3 day juice cleanse, and it reminded me how much energy my juices gave me. I had to get back in the game… stat.

I don’t do coffee cause I don’t want yellow teeth and I don’t like the taste, I obviously hate any & all artificial energy drinks, and although I do love tea- I am just not always in the mood for a hot bev. So… when I felt a crash coming on yesterday afternoon, I grabbed all the fruits and veggies I had on hand, wiped the dust off of my trusty juicer, and got straight to juicing.

This green juice is a FAVORITE of mine as it is jam packed with so many vitamins and nutrients, it makes me bounce off the walls, and it tastes DELICIOUS. Don’t be intimidated by the green, this stuff is 10x more enjoyable than a gross Monster energy drink. I swear.

The Blogger Facade (Time for a Rant)

DSC01988

I look at all my fellow bloggers, and they are always rocking the hottest looks H2T (that means head to toe… for future reference). Props to them if they are really getting dressed to the nines every single day… but I am just not buying it. There is no way they are putting on heels and little summer dresses while going to the grocery store and nonchalantly getting a great photo snapped of them in the produce section.

That’s the kind of blogging facade I realllly dislike. Ladies love to make it seem that they’re always doing fun shit and always looking like they stepped out of a fashion mag. Get real peeps. I want to know the dirty little deets behind the camera.

I will tell you straight up, more often than not you will find be in my uniform of leggings, an oversized tee (usually of the Harley variety), and my plain old black leather boots. MAYBE if I have something exciting to do, I will up the ante, but when lounging I like to keep it comfy and cas.

Yet, the other day, I looked in my laundry basket and saw I had 20 pairs of leggings and big tees to wash. I realized maybe I should mix things up. My look was become a real snooze-fest. I call this a fashion block… like a writers block with clothes. I decided the best way to go about changing things up was to wear something I never wear- JEANS. Not quite sure why, but in the past few weeks months I have been anti-denim. It was fun to step out of my comfort zone, and surprisingly enough, I was equally as comfortable as I am in my go-to leggings.

This & That

DSC02138

Now that it’s almost summer, the weekends are just getting better & better. I have been doing my best to get outdoors and soak up all that vitamin D, aka the happy vitamin, that I love so much. Which in the end, makes the Monday blues sooo much more painful than they already are. It’s a damn good thing the weeks seem to be flying by, because I reallllly can’t wait to lay on the beach with a good magazine and get myself a nice tan. I am paler than Casper right now.

Anywho, some maj changes are happening in my life right now, so I’ve really been trying to appreciate the small things and harness my chi (i.e. chill the eff out). If I don’t do my best to have a positive attitude, chances are I’d be ripping out my hair while popping a chill pill on the reg.

That being said, if you haven’t read The Secret, I highly suggest it. Whenever I am feeling uninspired or when I am in a life-rut, one chapter from that book always puts things in perspective. Trust me, I’ve read it probably 3x.

+ Lovely little surprise came in the mail this weekend, the new Nasty Gal magazine- Super Nasty. It’s so glossy and beautiful and BIG!! I am not quite sure how you get a physical copy because they just sent it to me, but I do know you can check out all the issues online here. +

+ One beer in me, and I literally think I am the best pool player in town. Whoever decides to play doubles with me on their side gets pretty bummed once they realize how much I suck. +

+ Not that I am a hiking aficionado or anything, but I do LOVE the mushroom caves in SD. They are these cool caves that tons of people have done all these rad etchings in the walls. It kind of reminds me of some sort of new age hieroglyphics. If you live in the area you MUST check it out. +

+ Love my new little c-thru clutch from Twistband. Perfect for holding all my essentials: Dr. Pepper Lip Smacker, Vaseline Lip Therapy, Baby Lips lip balm, a band-aid, Benadryl, & Julep nail polish remover wipes. This collection of odd things pretty much sums me up. I have allergies, I love lip balms of all types, I am clumsy and often hurt myself, and I paint my nails a lot. +
